31 things for the 27 year old

  1. I will be a cat mom in less than 2 months and it is honestly the most exciting feeling I’ve ever felt, which may actually sound pathetic but it is literally all I’ve wanted for a long time.
  2. I love to hike; it’s one of the only things that gives me life, scares me, leaves me breathless, and makes me feel the strongest all at the same time.
  3. I coach high school soccer and love it!
  4. I taught kindergarten for 4 years, I currently teach 3rd, but I’m still searching for “my grade”. (I loved K and I am LOVING 3rd, but I don’t think either of these grades are “the one”)
  5. I rode my bicycle (yes, like, a bike, not a motorcycle) from Augusta, Maine to New York City this past summer with my boyfriend and it was the most unforgettable experience ever (more on this another time!)
  6. I love chocolate. LOVE it.
  7. I love having my nails painted, but I find it so discouraging to do them because it always gets messed up (even if my boyfriend does everything for me for an hour+ after I do them just to make sure I don’t ruin them)
  8. I have 7 tattoos and can’t wait to continue adding!
  9. I love to shop. Mostly clothes. Lots of unnecessary pillows (but really are any pillows unnecessary?).
  10. I love a good girls night; I totally miss middle/high school sleepovers.
  11. I tutor after school a couple nights a week and love it.
  12. I love calzones almost as much as I love chocolate.
  13. My boyfriend and I started playing Bananagrams almost daily and it’s become my most favorite thing we do together.
  14. I love to create HIIT workouts to do.
  15. My favorite flowers are daisies. Original are the best, however, I absolutely love the color dyed ones, too.
  16. Garlic is literally life; however, I think I’ve developed an intolerance. Is that a thing that can happen?
  17. My favorite piece of jewelry is a ring my mom got made for me on my “golden birthday”. We designed it together and it is something I will cherish (and wear!) forever.
  18. When my ex boyfriend broke up with me, I took up jujitsu. It was one of the most soul finding missions of my life. It taught me more than I could ever put in to words, though maybe some day this month I’ll try.
  19. My Netflix go-to is New Girl. (but my favorite show is Suits)
  20. My hair is a ridiculous daily hassle
  21. I ran a marathon this past September and I truly had so many emotions during the whole thing it was overwhelming.
  22. I am a sister of Delta Phi Epsilon!
  23. I coach Girls on the Run- a running/self/healthy relationship building program for 3-5 grade girls
  24. My brother moved to St. Louis last year and I have only seen him onceย  (for one hour) since he’s been gone and some days it really gets to me.
  25. I’m what some may call a “townie teacher”. I am teaching in, essentially, the same town I grew up in.
  26. I’ve never left Maine. (See #25). I never, ever, wanted to stay in Maine (let alone 20 minutes from the house I grew up in), but…here I am, and some days it’s good, others…..
  27. I love music. LOVE it. I’m in desperate need of new jams, though. Send me your top songs- I’m a huge Ben Howard/Ben Rector/Jon Bellion/NOAH KAHAN fan type of music
  28. Oceans bring out the carefree side of me. (and the best salty beach hair)
  29. I drive a Subaru Forester and I love it.
  30. I hate doing the dishes.
  31. I love to write, but don’t make time for it enough.

Are we best friends, and don’t even know it yet?

I love numbers 1, 2,3,4,7,10,14,19,23,27,30,31… I can relate to all of those and agree with them 100 percent!! Literally all my favorite things/actions I do too..
I really want to do number 5! I love reading your blog, so I agree you should write more ๐Ÿ˜‰

Awesome list! I love your humor (especially about pillows, garlic, and being a “townie teacher”). My favorite was #21 – you nailed it. After completing the Ironman (add a little swim and bike to the marathon), I was on an emotional high for almost six months.:) Thank you for sharing. Happy writing!

I feel like I know you! I am a cat mom and love it. I also second the hiking, nail painting, trying to find your “perfect” grade to teach… and OMG DISHES. They’re the worst!
You might be interested in Caroline Smith? She’s one of my indie faves – and one of my Ben Howard-loving friends likes her! ๐Ÿ™‚
